A couple of days ago a fellow modeller informed me that Black Dog is about to release an interior for the ICV Stryker. So far, it's only announced in their news section at their website: http://www.blackdog.cz/
I couldn't find any pics but the announcement for itself is good enough for me
I understand it's their first kit in 1/35th scale. I noticed the company before, but wasn't too interested because they did 1/48 and 1/72 only. Can anybody comment on the quality?

Happy days for modelling

Johannes

P.s.: I hope it's alright I posted it here in this forum.

Hi Anton,
For first look is nice but if you look on photos you see that 30-40% parts in interior missing.
Next problem for many modeler is Trumpeter base kit.

Milo, hello!

It's bad news about Trumpeter base. Hope they will make modification for AFV.

I looked at Stryker in detail, ad agree with you about missing parts. SOme space for scratchbuilding??

Henk
This is easy. If somebody make of interior must also add big PE parts for realistic look.
For that resin and PE interior is very expensive.
I have info that AVF think about Stryker interior and engine. Also about next version.

Why Trumpeter? Unlikely.

At the manufacturer's web site says
AFV 1 35 M1126 interior (AFV Club)

I remember when it was first announced they said it was for the AFV Club kit.

That's a shame, I only have Trumpeter's Strykers

The placement and size of the open hatches does seem to suggest that it's the AFV Club kit.. except for the color of the plastic.

Oups, indeed... My mistake! They must have painted the AFV Club parts to confuse their customers...

The set certainly looks like a good starting point for building a Stryker interior. Certainly some details are missing, perhaps a run down of whats missing would be useful. I dont have my references to had but it doesnt look as if the NBC filter pipes are included to name but one thing.

Trumpeter has hinted at a Stryker interior, and it would be certainly VERY welcome if afv club released a stryker with interior set.

I've always wondered why these modelling companies (Major or small) release kits or detail sets that are missing a certain percentage of details which are obvious and easily spotted. I mean, after going through all the trouble of the research to make the master, why leave something out?

Or does the price come into the picture and they end up having to stop at a certain point to keep the price level reasonable.

Just one of the things in modelling that make me go hmmmmmm...

Well I think Hisham some things are impossible to create as a resin casting or produce in PE. For example this kit looks as though it lacks the NBC filter piping, but really theres no easy way of making that expect for wrapping fine wire around a thicker piece of wire, this sort of thing can be done by the modeller, but wouldn't look good if the company themselves did it and cast it in resin. I think many fine, small details are best produced by the modeller. If you look at the HB AAV7 kits, the interior is missing a few small details and things, but again these are things that arent easy to produce in resin, and are best fabricated from plasti card or spares.
