Hello Today I found this picture of hmmwv in Iraq. Can somebody tell me something more about this "strange modification" on the back? Thank You for help, Chris from Poland |

Chris,
Looks like a "home-made" drop-in armored box. Appears the back hatch was removed to make room for the box. Military contractors like the former "Blackwater" used those kind of armored boxes in the back of pickup trucks.
Looking at the uniforms and helmets, they could be contractors (mercenaries), Iraqi Commandoes, or a service other than US Army. It is hard to tell with just single photo.
