Hi,

So, I found some "Resin unbranded" figure models on ebay, and I'm wondering what they are. The pictures look like models from Pegaso, Andrea, etc. but they are Resin and not White Metal. They are also considerably cheaper.

I'm worried that they might be molds or knock-offs. Are these legit? Has anyone bought things like this before?

Here's the title of one of them. "54mm Resin Lord of Rings Elf Prince Orlando Bloom Unbuild Unpainted TS012"

Thanks for any thoughts,

Steve

They are copy,knock-offs,e-bay and Aliexpress are full of thease stuff, every now and then the pages are closed but reopened the next day under a different name, I've seen some good copies and some very "bubbly", of course is that for our niche hobby these copies are a disaster for producers, especially because is small companies and they are much affected by these practices.

I think if you love this hobby you dont have to buy this stuff...my 2 cents

Not only "bubbly" castings, but just plain sloppy work - distortions, warps, and mis-aligned molds resulting in poorly registered halves and massive resin flash, are usual. Also some low quality resin is used - either very hard to work, or brittle. I've bought a couple of larger scale fantasy figures and they're terrible!
