I have the figure by Michael Roberts Officer 10th Hussars 1884. If some of you remember it was the old Roll Call figure. The boxart suggests the tunic is a Tan colour. I know the British stopped wearing the red in the late 1880's.

I guess my question would it be ok to paint the tunic red?

Cheers

Hi Ray,

A British Hussar would definitely NOT have worn a red jacket! Even on home service it would have been blue. See link for the dress uniform at about this period. In 1884 the 10th (Prince of Wales) Hussars served in India and Egypt, but the figure you have is sculpted wearing the khaki and would need some work (adding lace etc) to change this.
