Hey Guys,

I need some help/advice.
Ever since I started modelling 20+ years ago I've wanted to build a chess set.
However it has yet come to fruision.(either Napoleonic or Ancient ie Roman, greek)
I'm at a point now where it may finally happen however here in NZ 54mm white metal/resin figures are horendously expensive and the small 15/25mm are to small.
So I'm looking to use plastic 1/32nd scale ie:Aifix,Hat etc.
Any advice,reviews, comments,help
greatfully apreciated

Cool idea, one I've harboured myself, yet never had the guts (or time/patience) to try. Good luck with it !

As to 54mm plastic figures, you could try to get your hands on the old Historex Napoleonics. They're getting rarer, but you might be able to find some for sale on the web.

If you're doing a Napoleonic set, Airfix's Coldstream Guards and French Line Infantry kits might make good pawns. Good luck with your project.
