Operational Overview ACES HIGH.
5 kills for a fighter pilot gained them membership to an exclusive club. That 5th victory in the air meant the pilot was bestowed with the title "Ace". Surely the fighter pilots ultimate accolade.
ACES HIGH is a campaign to celebrate the aircraft of the aces of all nationalities and conflicts from the earliest duels over the trenches to the present day.
Join in the fun starting April 1st 2008.
The Rules and Regs All scales, any era, dioramas, display bases welcome.
To qualify for a ribbon build an aircraft of an "ace" and post 3 finished photos along with a photo of the actual plane before the finishing date.
A gallery will be created for this purpose.
Your finished plane must display "5 plus" or more "kill markings" to qualify. Aircraft of future aces will not qualify. ( for example, a Spitfire of top scoring ace Johnnie Johnson with 3 kill markings wouldnt be eligible for a ribbon.
The exception to the "5 killmarkings rule" will be where there is documentary proof ( hence the reason for the photo of the real aircraft, apart from encouraging research) that the Ace in question did not choose to decorate the aircraft with kill markings.
To sum up, and hopefully avoid any confusion. Either "5 plus" kill markings or none at all, as long as you have proof (photo) that the plane was flown by an Ace.
