Operational Overview Twilight 2000: 2005 Defenso ad Ultimum - "Defend to the last"
Twilight 2000 has a great storyline and penchant for brigand, rogue, and independant operations. But what about all those great military units that are still somewhat intact, or that carried on with thier call to duty well past the effectiveness of their unit in a strategic sense? What about the "last man standing"?
This year will be dedicated to the last soldier, tank, ship, aircraft or other left from a regular military unit that is still defending their post even after chaos, local warlords, and piracy have engulfed the world. The Rules and Regs Runtime: all of what is left of 2005. I entered a start date of Jan 15th, but that was just a arbitrary date. Start whenever you want.
Finish: Dec 31st, 2005 Any finished model must have 2 different angle pictures posted minimum.
Award: Honor. A warm fuzzy feeling. (An "electronic" ribbon or medal). :) Contest Element The scope should literally be for the whole world, any country or piece of equipment, but the story that goes with it has to be just as good.
For the build, I would like to see all the stops pulled out for creativity. If there is a really interesting project you had in mind for a while and wanted to do, this may be the time to give it a shot. Some examples would be:
M60A3 of the 1/94th Armor defending the last working snowplow in Euclid, MN.
Argentinian A-4 of Esquadron No1 defending the coast from "pirates".
The USS Hewitt, a Spruance class destroyer, engaged in humanitarian efforts on the west coast while defending against the "red threat" (and swarthy Canadians...)
A chinese Type-59 of the 212th Guards tank Division defending a hole in the great wall from "foreign invaders".
Or even a arctic trooper on a Polaris snowmobile from the 200th ID (Light, Scout) defending a radar station in antarctica.
Let your imaginiation go with this campaign for a unique build, or even just have fun building a more typical out of the box kit with a really good story.
