The sturdy cardboard box contains one wooden textured boat with a separate plastic bag containing the remaining (all resin) parts of the boat, including :

two oars

four plank seats

pieces to secure to the bow

stern bulkheads

oar mounts

aft keel

The Kit

This kit is really neat. The boat features some really good wooden texture on the boat overall, on the wooden seats (on one side only) and on the bulkhead pieces and keel. The parts appear to fit well together and went together quickly. The oars also feature some wood grain, but much more subtly than the boat and pieces. The quality is good.

Overall pros and cons

The pros are obvious here. A piece like this is so versatile. It could be used in literally any diorama, be it wartime or peacetime, civilian or military, modern or antebellum. It doesn’t even have to have water! I really liked it and I would recommend it to anyone. The only drawback would be its size. The hull is 6 ¼ inches long, 2 ¼ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches at its greatest height. It could overwhelm a small diorama (unless it was the centerpiece.)

Final word

I recommend this kit to anyone who needs such a boat in a dio (the Civil War comes to mind) or to someone who wants to put something different in a dio. Recommended.
