Pegaso Models brings another 54 mm. Samurai figure on your workbench. It represents a Samurai warrior from Late Muromachi Period (1333-1573) and offers figure painters a unique subject with a good posing and different painting options on clothing.
box
The figure comes in 125 x 85 x 30 mm.standard Pegaso Models Elite Series blue cardboard box. The front cover shows the figure painted by
Emiliano Iacobacci from 2 different angles - front and back.
Inside the box, there are 2 paper sheets including a short historical info about Samurai clothing in Muromachi period and painting tips for this figure. This document is prepared by
Marco Giuliani and presented in 4 languages; English, Italian, French and German.
Parts are well protected between two slabs of thick gray polyfoam and small parts are secured in a punched plastic bag.
parts
The figure is sculpted by
Victor Konnov and made up of 6 white metal parts. All parts are cast clean and crisp with good details. No serious cleaning, sanding or filling is required. As I mentioned in most reviews, I repeat brushing your figure gently with a wire brush and washing with soap or mild detergent makes the details more apparent and priming makes paint adhere much better.
The main part is torso with legs. He wears a
Dobuku, open front short tunic made of cotton with loose sleeves. Silk cord between collars of dobuku is well represented. Inside dobuku, he wears a
Kimono, Japanese typical long clothing. The folds and wrinkles on clothes and
Obi ,sash around waist is well defined. On his feet, he has
Tahi , natural leather or cloth socks and
Waraji sandals made from straw.
Left arm : This part includes the left hand, left sleeve of dobuku, scabbard of Katana ,long combat sword and Wakizashi ,short companion sword also used to commit Seppuku, Japanese ritual suicide.
Right arm : Right loose sleeve is dobuku is represented with fine cloth folds.
Right hand : It is sculpted as grabbing the handle of katana. The details on handle and Tsuba, hilt of katana are well defined.
Head : Face shows nice details with a typical samurai Chonmage haircut; shaved at top, long at sides and whiskers. It is oiled and tied into a ponytail which is folded up onto the top of the head giving a so-called topknot.
Figure base : It shows a stone road texture and there are 2 holes on the base to fit the figure easily.
