XVIII-XIX Century House-Gate

Introduction:

Making the presentation of figures more realistic is something all miniaturists seek. But it’s not always easy to have the idea and, even more so, to recreate it with accuracy and skill. Pegaso comes to solve this problem. Releasing a range of fine scenic bases would “free” the modelers’ hands in this field. Nicely sculpted and highly detailed resin kits in 54mm scale. This House Gate from XVIII – XIX Century is sculpted from talented sculptor Victor Konnov.

Boxing:

The kit comes in the classic size and shape Pegaso figures hard carton box, but in a brown – yellow color scheme, so it’s evident that belongs to another product range. The box-art shows a painted kit that serves as a painting guide. The box is filled with paper stripes as protection to the 3 resin pieces, which are inside a zip locker plastic bag.

The Kit:

The kit is very simple in assembly, consisting of only 3 pieces: a ground base part of a sidewalk; a piece of a corner wall; and a part for a half metal gate.

Quality:

The kit is sculpted nice, with good detail on the textures and realistic recreation of specific scenery.

The casting (done from the Greek company YS Castings - Masterpieces) is absolutely flawless with no air holes or anything else that has to be corrected.

Fit:

As the kit is pretty simple to assemble will cause zero problems. It comes together, with some CA glue between the 3 pieces and the result is a nice setting for your figure Just take care in cleaning the gate part, as the piece is really thin and sensitive

Conclusion:

One beautiful scenery kit with this House Gate. A useful kit for many different figures, that doesn’t need any addition more than a careful painting and maybe some fallen leaves on the ground. Suggested for all modelers. Take care in painting and you will be “Pegaso Satisfied”!

About Costas Rodopoulos (Major_Goose)
FROM: KIKLADHES, GREECE / Ελλάδα

I started modelling 27 years ago with some 1/72 planes and military vehicles. Soon the diorama bug got into me and with Sheperd Paynes books I dug in. I loved to build dioramas and military vehicles till the Vietnam Era. I don't like modern stuff so much. 4 years ago I had a crush on figure painti...

Looks like an excellent addition to set off a single figure nicely.

I have this item, and I am a little bit disappointed in the casting quality. Flashes all along all parts what is rather complicate to remove.

My friend , there is a possibilitythat you have run on a bad copy - something not very possible for Pegaso - . at least in my copy, besides the thin casting line crossin the main piece , that i removed pretty easily, there was no other flash or problem, and the casting was really nice, with no bubbles or other problems. if you think that you cant use the kit, then you could write an email to Pegaso for a replacement one . Dear Costas, No I do not tink I have run with bad copy, because I saw your pictures the quality the same. Yes I have the problem with casting lines as you mentioned (sorry my english not the best, i used 'flashes word' instead of casting lines). If I compare to alphine or aires casting where there is almost none casting lines. I am a big fan of pegaso but this one is not my favorite, Best wishes, Tamas

Dear Tamas to be honest with a fresh blade and some sanding stick itwasnt more than 5 minutes toremove the lines, but of course it would be better if they wouldnt exist at all i agree totally !!!!!! best regards
