Mystic Base Round 60mm

by: Andrzej Snigorski [ ENDRJU007 ]

INTRODUCTION

Basicks – Polish company created by former members of Micro Art Studio offers new base from their Mystic series: Round 600mm base.
Since we’re received in the same moment as it appeared as available in the shop and just few days after the company was established we’ve got it without final blister – you can see how the parts will be packed in delivery on sample picture of blisters.

Base

Base shows part of mystical ruins. Gear shaped stones with mystical symbols on them are visible above the ground but climbing plants are starting to take over the place. One of stones is higher than others creating interesting accent.
Small rock and a corked bottle of elixir on the ground complete the picture of abandoned temple.

The kit

Base is delivered in one piece. It is round, 60mm in diameter but some details are sculpted over the round edge of the base. The bottom is flat – you can use it as a stand-alone base or place it on wooden/stone/plastic base to make it “taller”.
Obviously no assembly instruction is delivered. None painting instruction is present as well but it is quite obvious and one can use picture from Basicks’ website as a painting reference.

Detailing and quality

Details are clean and perfectly visible. Texture of the ground may be painted in as a clean soil or as a smaller vegetation – may also be used as a base for artificial grass. Climbing plants have very small leaves and it’s appearance is rather moss like than in example ivy.
Casting is very good – no air bubbles, no flesh, no cracks or lacks of material were spotted on the base.

Conclusion

Very nice and not very expensive base. It may be used with 28mm wargaming miniatures or even with 75-90mm figures.
Since it is not showing any detail typical to specific fantasy world or battle system it may be used with any fantasy themed figure.
Nice casting, nice design and versatility make this base worth buying for anyone interested in fantasy themed figures.

Recommended!

FROM: WOJEWODZTWO PODKARPACKIE, POLAND

My first contact with model making took place over 20 years ago – I’ve made few models of planes when I was 9. They were all destroyed in one disastrous accident. Pain after loosing results of my own work was so big that I’ve left model making for about 15 years ;) . I’ve returned to building models...
