In-Box Review
Zombie Highwayman
MDC's Zombie Highwayman
  • move

by: Paul Anstee [ HOFPIG ]

This maybe a bit of a macabre subject for some and a little of a misnomer for others. MDCís Zombie is, if the truth be known, more of a Skeleton Highwayman. However that does not detract from the kit.

The Kit

MDC supply their kits in a sturdy black, magnetically sealed box with the contents inside wrapped in a suitable amount of bubble wrap. The kit itself comes in two parts, the main bust, including the entire skull visible beneath the hat and the hat itself.

Coming in two parts will allow for a much easier time when painting. The bust itself measures around two half inches (66mm for the rest of Europe!) and three inches (75mm) once assembled with his hat! The bust is around three inches wide. The cast of this quite substantial lump of resin is very crisp with no flash, very little in the way of bubbles (one to be precise on my copy).

The only real problem I had with my one was that the lower half of the last button seems to have broken off, probably when it was removed from the mould. Not a huge problem just a minor inconvenience really.

I purchased this kit down at Euromillitaire, however having bought a previous one and had it mailed I can confirm that their package arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Overall this will build into a quick good looking addition to any collection.
Highs: Two piece construction allows for ease of painting. Great very crisp detail.
Lows: As mentioned above my copy had half a button missing and a small air bubble, but I have seen far worse.
Verdict: A nice subject, great moulding and fantastic detail for a great price.
