Hi all,

It is with regret that I write to inform you of a change in management here at Historicus Forma: I will be relinquishing my position as Managing Editor as at the end of June 2008 (today in fact).

As some of you may be aware my wife, Tracey, and I are in the final stages of preparing to emigrate from South Africa. Mid-August 2008 will see us immigrate to Australia, hopefully Melbourne.

Naturally the time leading up to final departure is going to be a very busy (and stressful!) time with finalising what's staying and what's going, and saying goodbye to old friends, new friends, relatives and family. Once we arrive things aren't going to slow down, as we both still need to find jobs, an apartment or house and try to get our lives back on track. After July, I don't foresee modelling being an active part of my life again until early 2009 - although I am sure I'll be lurking in the shadows

As such, I have decided to step down as Managing Editor of Historicus Forma effective the end of June 2008. Jim has kindly agreed to allow me to stay on in a Contributing Editor role thereafter so that I might still post a few outstanding reviews and hopefully be a contributing member to this community.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your tremendous support over the last 2 years (yes, it really has been that long!). Whether you served on the staff, provided us with samples, contributed reviews, features or news, posted in the forums, or merely lurked in the shadows reading our banter, without you the site would not be were it is today. You are the community that HF is. It has been an absolute honour to have led you. For this I thank you.

To the staff (in no particular order): Engin, Costas, Alguhan, Al, Craig, Gino and Markus (as well as David whom served with us only briefly). Guys: thanks for your support and dedication over our time together. It was a pleasure to have worked alongside you.

I wish Historicus Forma and the Kitmaker Network continued success and once again, would like to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your team.

What more can I say than, you have done a great job as Managing Editor for HF. Someone (hopefully) will want to fill these big shoes.

Thanks for all your hard work and your interest in staying on in whatever capacity time will allow. And good luck with your move and transition to a new home country. It sounds like a really exciting time for you! I am a little jealous!

Rudi, I'm sorry to hear you are leaving your position on HF; you have done a great job and formed a tight community for all of us to enjoy. We'll be missing you, even your monthly *bumps* of different topics.

Good luck on your Australian endevour. Ozzies are a great bunch and I loved Melbourne very much... I found out it is a great place to live and I'm sure you'll enjoy it once all the hype setles down.

Hey, Rudi, good luck with the move, I sincerely hope you settle into your new life quickly and smoothly. BTW, did I ever tell you that we have a very small community of South African immigrants right here in Sri Lanka -- both Afrikaner and English.

I can't imagine HF without you at the head, and it made my short time as a staff member very pleasant. Hope to see you back on the site soon. It'll be 2009 before you know it, mate.

Thanks very much for your too kind words.

We're in the process of packing now. Must say it's kind of hard packing up all that modelling stuff knowing it'll be months before I see it again. But, I am looking forward to eventually unpacking it. Hopefully the sabatical will fire the creative juices, which have been somewhat stagnant of late.

For those interested, I'll probably post updates of our "Big Move" on my blog: Tarok's Tales. It's mostly modelling at the moment, but as I don't feel like creating a new blog (more from a time management perspective) I'll just update the current one

Where to start! Well I've only known you for about 6 months but during that time you have made my time online at HF a pleasure. Your comments and critique have helped me immensly. Thankyou for your hard work editing and publishing my terrible reviews and I will miss working with you in the coming years. You've done a brilliant job and made the site a great place.

You have made the right move mate and you will be looking like a sandle and singlet clad kangaroo riding beer bellied barbie addict cobber in no time!
