***Heavy Photo***


I got this little… err Big gem from the wife for My birthday last month( back in April)... * thank you !! hun *

Countess Karenstein is from Solar Winds Productions... it was huge... came in a big box but man after taken her out an messing around with the resin... she stands just a little over 18.5" tall with base... everything is solid resin.... The only complaint I have about this is how rough the cast is as you can see all the grey area's happen to be Tamiya liquid surface primer. I used this to fill in tiny air bubbles, scratches and imperfections... There were A LOT!!! 3 times I had to putty and sand to get a nice smooth finish all over it took a little over 3 months to prep her before I could primer the kit. She is currently primed and ready for paint.
I got her back in April, So tonight Dec.22nd I’ll start doing some mixing of basic flesh tones… I don’t want to go with the normal black body suite as the production photos shows. So I’m tossing up going with a Purple, Green or Red style body suite for her. But all the gold area’s will be the same as the studio photo.

I'm glad you managed to set up this workbench blog, Chris. After seeing your last masterpiece, I think we can all learn something from you... looking forward to seeing your flesh painting techniques.

I see you have primed the model with black primer; is it giving more "depth" to the colors which will be applied later? As for the body suit, yeah, I would vote for a dark red shade.

actually it's Krylon grey primer... I use black primer on armor kits mostly, but now that you mention it... I've got another gal figure that isn't the best qaulity resin.. so I'll give her a black coat and see how that turns out.. will do a WIP on her just for that purpose...later of course lol

Vampirella is getting a dark red body suite on her instead of the brighter red.. will snap a couple of her when I do the dark red suite.

I don't know bout masterpiece, I was just glad it turned out ok... after 2 paint jobs then a complete an total strip down back to the resin lol I was afraid it was going to turn out horrid, but I guess it came out alright.
