Since the campaign requires a figure while vehicles are optional, it was decided that this campaign belongs here in HF. This will become the official thread and the one is Armorama will soon be locked.

I'm still here, you haven't lost me yet!
I still didn't get over to the gamer-themed Local Hobby Shop (LHS), "The Last Square" here in Madison, to see what they offer. But then too, I might be ready to try sculpting a sci-fi one myself. Either way, I'm looking forward to this one.
Thanks again,
Sean H.

I'll enter CMK's "Sniper Pair in Ghille Suit," which I wanted to enter for the previous "Sniper 2" campaign.

I may change the gun since I have quite a lot of 1/35 guns. Being in Ghille Suits, these snipers could represent any U.S. or NATO country so I haven't really decided which gun to swap to.

If I have the time and resources, I may kitbash a Sci-fi sniper. Sci-fi really is my goal; however, I need to build that CMK kit.

I'm in. Now I just need to come up with a project. It will be a vignette of a WWI or WWII scene.

Anyone suggest companies that have cool sniper mini's? I don't care about scale or era. Just cool factor.

Not sure what exactly you're looking for...1/35? If so, there are plenty...an eBay search for "(1/35) Sniper" may help.

As for wargaming, there are plenty of wargaming snipers also.

I'm in...

Now to "figure" out what I'm doing...Using body parts & weapons from the spares box I should be able to come up with a modern sniper in Iraq or Afganistan. I have a 1/35 Barrett .50 that just looks mean which will be the focus of a vignett.

Enlisted!

I'll be trying my hand at figure sculpting (actually just clothing/uniform). The plan is a 1/24 scale Russian female sniper crouched in a ready to fire position. She'll likely be arranged in the front window area of a destroyed department store much as one would find in Stalingrad.

I'll base the figure on one of my (soon to be released) 1/24 figure mannequins and all her accessories will come from LSA stock. I've also located a laser cut styrene storefront window at a G scale model RR site that will be perfect and save a huge amount of time.

I will be making a Sci Fi sniper - or snipers. I have not decided yet, but I plan on one of them being heavily camouflaged.

Looking forward to get started in 2012

More to follow.

I haven't started mine and am not too concerned since the CMK Sniper pair is one-piece, meaning little construction. I need to wait for sunnier days to go out and spray primer on them first.

@Sal, in my oppinion this is closer to 1/40 than 1/35... I have this kit and figures are smaller than i.e. Tamiya (which has small figures itself) and much smaller than i.e. Dragon... My kit has also some material lacks. Mould is one of the worst I've ever seen.

Andrzej, thanks for the heads up about the kit, I haven't opened the box yet. I plan on stealing a page from Randys play book and making a small vignette on a jar lid with 2 of the figures so there wont be any vehicles involved. And once I add some grass camo to them hopefully that will cover up some of the imperfections in the mold
