Good point, Jeremy! Maybe you don't remember, but my entry for Crusades also wasn't white - it was Knight Hospitaller, XII century.

Yeah I remember your entry, and I think you had one or two other figures in the vignette?
I love modeling scale figures, but I'm certainly making a lot of noob mistakes

No, you're thinking about Alguhan Akşar's vignette HERE. One of his figures was same as mine (M-Model resin)

Hi there guys. Here's an update of Leonidas. Painted a bit more the flesh and the beard-hair and helmet with black oil . i gave the flesh some shadows and highlights with oils (hope they look nice) and painted the belt and his slip with oils also. the eyes are a bit pain to paint thme in those holes of the helmet, cant make them out clear enough.Anyway any comments welcome.

Wow, I could have sworn you had some figures in green cloaks or something Andrzej. Alguhan did some good work with that one for sure though

Does anyone know where I can find decals or good references for creating stencils for viking shields?

I haven't painted any cloaked figure so far - this bannerholder is going to be my first one.
As for viking shield markings - I don't know any company making stencils or decals for shields, but these are websites you may find interesting and useful: hurstwic - generelly about viking shields and Viking Answer Lady about Viking "heraldy"

By the way, remember to enlist to the campaign - otherwise I won't be able to give you your ribbon after the campaign.

Right now I'm trying to finish my Kriegslokomotive BR52 I'm building for about half year... I hope to have it done within next two weeks and start painting my bannerholder.

I am in with a WWII German figure. I am looking through my stash to see what else I can come up with, but must of it is WWII German figures.

Taking the length of the campaign into account I might find something else of interest.

Looking forward to get started.

Thanks Andrzej, you have me pointed in the right direction. Good luck on completing that monster, I thought about pursuing one but quickly decided against it for the time being

I should be enlisted now, thanks for the reminder!

Nice to see you with us Jesper! I've added your WWII figure to the chart.
Since I had WWII figure planned and Jesper is taking over this area I'm switching to something else: XVIIIc Prussia or Japan or IIc Ireland:

Anyway, crusader is going to be the firs figure from my side.

We're officially on, so have fun painting (I still have no place on my desk because the BR52 Kriegslock is HUGE, so I really need to finish it before starting anything new).

Jeremy, I dig that Bosnian officer as well, but since I spend a lot of time playing Shogun2 I fell great temptation to samurai figures as well... We'll see.
Your Viking is great, really interesting figure. I don't recall the manufacturer though - which is it?

It's titled "Winter is Coming", a relatively new release from Andrea Miniatures.

I understand the influence games have on modeling, I've been there myself a few times lol. Andrea has a new series titled SAMURAI, and there are two figures in the collection so far

Date Masamune

Daimyo

both are 75mm.

Ok, I'm in with an Imex Knight. The 2nd in the Armored Knight Series, Archduke Siegmund. That'll cover the 15th Century (1427-1496). How does that sound Andrzej?

Hi,

very nices figures projects here !

Here is my first one, a Xth century capetian warrior (70 mm from super sculpey/Fimo mixed).
He will wear a heavy leather nailing coat, a round shield, a sword and a great battle axe.
It will be in a static pose as ready for a battle.

The photo which inspired me:

Still in progress:

Cheers

@Charlie - Sigismund Habsburg, huh? Great choice! I've added your figure to our chart.

@Jeremy - I love these samurai figures... The problem is that 1) I have many other unpainted figures already and 2) I've recently spent so much money on my other hobby that my beloved wife would probably murder me if she sees new figure...

@Aaron - very nice figures. Can't wait to see them painted.

@Nicolas - I agree with Aaron - this one seems to be your best sculpt I've seen so far!

nice work on the uniform Nico. Really great work on the stripes and the rivets.
The only think i could say is maybe on the face to trim him a little more so the wrinkles wont be so big(deep).
Cheers..

Nico, I see you are using thermosetting clay, am I right?
I have one question. Do you have to finish whole figure before heat treatment or can you add some layer of clay/putty after one heat treatment and then put whole thing back to the oven for another turn?
