Hello: this is my latest work. It is a 1/16th scale original sculpt using only leftover sprue as my sculpting matieral. The figure is that of a US Marine taking cover during the battle of Khe Sahn, during the Tet offensive of 1968.

Thanks for looking

I really like the dynamism of the pose and the way you've constructed whole thing.
Did you use flash? Unfortunately shadows on the wall right behind the figure and deep shadows on the very figure make the details difficult to see.

It is amazing what you did with leftover sprue... great eco-friendly figure.

Left over sprue! That's pretty amazing.

I have to agree with the others, that is a real achievement to sculpt something as good as that from left-over sprue. Its a very dynamic scene too, it conveys the movement very nicely.

Thanks for the kind words. I think I need to work more my camera skills next. The figures seem to lose a lot of detail in the pictures.

fantastic work, especally with just using sprue! Have you done an article using your techniques? I would love to learn a bit.

Drop me an email.. [email protected] and Ill give you a hand on taking photos cheaply. I use a very simple setup using a couple of lights and some craft paper for backdrops.

let me know what kind of camera you have and options on settings.

cheers,
Andy
