Hi Gang,Can someone recommend a simple "out of the bottle" wash for figures ?.
I`m not too sharp at painting figures (i use Humbrol Enamels - It`s a paint i`m comfortable with) but what i`d like is a dark wash to highlight seams and faces.
Can anyone help me ?.

I'm not sure if you've ever come across them but I use citadel washes for all my 1:72 figure needs. You can buy them from the internet or any Gamesworkshop shop, I think they're 2.50? Have a look at the pictures of my British Paratroopers, I used it on them. Hope that helps?

Hi

For a simple was, why not make your own, all they are is either an oil based or acrylic based paint greatly thinned with the appropriate media, ie mineral (White) spirit for oils or Water with flow aid for acrylics. That's basically what all the shop bought ones are.

As you are using Enamels I would go with the acrylics as you don't want the thinner attacking the enamels or use an acrylic barrier coat then you can use your enamels, that way you only have to buy one acrylic item and use you existing enamels for the colour tint.
