Lord Vader.
Saw the Knight Model offerings on e-Bay a while back and got a couple to try out. Very nice kits. Well detailed metal castings in superb poses. As with all evil, it's usually a study in black. I used enamels,acrylics, and inks.

Very nice figure. I made several of their Star Wars line.

Some of their publications sounded more like they choose not to renew the contract rather than losing it. They picked up Dark Knight, DC and Lotr after it which has led to some speculation as to how much a Star Wars license might have actually cost in the first place and was it so high they they could pick up the other licenses for close to the price of the SW one. Either way its a pity as I was a fan of the line

Thanks for the info. I did like the SW line very much, but it was obviously far too expensive to keep producing the figures. I'm glad Knight decided to pick up LotR and DC licences though.

Well, I believe it's to late to say that but...
Vader's mask and the chest armor were not 100% black.
They were painted in an alternating pattern of gloss black and gloss gunmetal/dark grey.

The chest armor was different in every episode:
ROTS

ANH

ESB

ROTJ


Chestbox was different between the movies so it depends on from which episode Vader this is.

@ Andrzej- WOW! I didn't have a clue about all that Vader detail changes! Just looked like varied sheens of black in the movies. Even in your photos(Thanks!), it's easy to write off the grays and gunmetals as reflections off dark gloss black. I actually did dry brush a little gunmetal on the 'speech grating' just so it could be distinguished somewhat.
As to the discontinue of SW subjects, I'd bet Disney just said "we have other people to do that." Slam dunk.

I had no idea about all these details either - I've learned about them just recently when started preparing my own Vader armor for 501st Legion. (I'm still missing chestbox, belt with beltboxes and I want to repaint the mask and chest armor (something strange is happening with the gloss varnish, and I want it to be just perfect), but I'm quite close to the end (I hope to finish completing it this year).

As for Disney and SW licences - I believe that we have to wait through the transition time... We already have some nice Marvel figures (and they're Disney's as well...)
