Hi Guys,Can anyone here recommend a book for a figure newbie ?.
I have been modelling for over thirty years and while i can do a reasonable paintjob i`m just blown away by some of the figures i see on websites,i use my figures to add scale to the Armour and Aircraft i build.
I use Humbrol enamels with brushes (it`s a medium i`m comfortable with and enjoy using)but if there`s a book like the Osprey Masterclass type i`d love to know.

There are a number of books published by Kalmbach Publishing on just this subject, but my BIBLE is a book long out of print - you MIGHT get lucky and find it on line somewhere - It's by the Late Robert (Bob) C Knee Jr., (d 2007) titled "Color Theory & Application", First edition published in Dec 1997 by R & K productions - now out of business...unfortunately...Bob's book covers not only theory/application, but also mixing colors - specifically, artist's oils but those instructions apply to acrylics also..Bob was a friend who gave me advice on painting and mixing colors...I still have notes saved in a small spiral notebook dating back to the late '70s & early '80s...if you can find this book it'll be worth the price you pay...There are also a number of color mixing books available on the market (Watson-Guptil Publishers), but not geared to those of us in the miniature hobby, yet very useful nonetheless...Good hunting, my friend...
