Though in the distant future, I will be building a Tiger P(VK4501). As the only tank to see combat at Kursk, I know it needs zimmerit. It also needs the addition of an escape hatch on the rear of the turret. This brings up an issue I have long dreaded. I need opinions on how to remove the necessary zimmerit etch. I don't even want to think about free handing it. I do have a mill, but would like to know of any other options. Or, is there a non-etch set of zimmerit that I can use for this build? TIA

Since my understanding of your dilemma is the escape hatch
opening, I will suggest a circuit nipper or a paper hand punch.

This has worked well for me in the past.

I don't think a paper punch will work. The escape hatch would be much larger in 1:35. I don't plan on posing the hatch open. I should have stated this in my original post. What is a circuit nipper?

I suggested a paper punch so that you can make multi punches
in the area to remove material and then file the rest.

A circuit nipper is something similar but cuts in a straight line.
You punch a hole first and , insert the nipper and continue to remove material
in a straight line,
Works well if creating a square or rectangular hole.

Will post picture as soon as I find my nipper.
