Very interesting. I wonder how many streetcars and conductors there were in Sheridan in 1915? Was it a good-sized city then-- especially with such a natural barrier between it and the fort?
Here is some information I found:
The electric-powered trolley line in Sheridan was a fleet of five cars that provided a public transit system around the town of Sheridan as well as the outlying coal mines and Fort Mackenzie and it was called the Fort Line between 1911 and 1926.
I didn't find anything about how many conductors there were. I am guessing maybe 10.
And a population comparison.
Sheridan, WY population in 1915 – 8,906
Sheridan, WY population now – 17,698
Not quite doubled in almost 100 years. Still a small town compared to other states standards but it is still one of the biggest in WY. Not too small....not too big....I like it.
