Came across these pictures of elk being loaded into railcars in Gardiner, Montana. I don't have any history to share with what is taking place in the photographs but I thought that they were interesting.

You're welcome Sean. Gardiner, MT is just across the Wyoming/Montana state line from Yellowstone National Park. Elk and Buffalo migrate up thought that area all the time. So I wonder if this isn't some type of relocation program or something. I hope so anyway.

I like how you can see that they used some rough cut pine boards to raise the height of the loading chute. Guess they were afraid the elk would jump!!

The person that has them stated that one of them has the year of 1913 written on the back of it as the year it was taken.
