Well i for one can't afford to buy most of the kits out there these days, i built the Italeri 1/35th S-Boat back in 2008 and added all scratchbuilt mines etc, and R/C motors had her running on the water, then i see that they have brought another one out, but earlier an S-38 with a normal bridge, i would love to have this but at a £170, bit to much for my pockets, and as i said the same goes for a lot of kits out there, and as i work nearly seven days a week, then finding the time to build, so i mostly scratch build the things that intrest me, In 1/350th scale two years a go i built HMS.Plymouth before she got scrappped and then did the first aircraft carrier from 1914 HMS.Ark royal, at the moment i am doing HMS.Fearless., works out around 17 inches long
They are not works of art like some of the members models here, and the eyesight is starting to fad with age but at the end of the day, when i finsh a model i feel chuffed as there's no other one out there the same.
