The Portland & Western (P & W) GP40-2 locomotive was commissioned by Tru-Color Paint to demonstrate the Gennesee & Wyoming (G & W) Yellow and Orange. The P & W is a shortline owned by the G & W Company. Note that custom decals were also manufactured for this project. Gennesee & Wyoming owns many shortlines throughout the U.S. and nearly all of them are painted in this corporate orange & yellow scheme.

All of the Portland & Western locomotives were named for the cities it served. The loco shown is the Wilsonville.

Tru-Color Paint TCP-114 and TCP-115 was used for this (and another we had done as well) locomotive. These are in stock in 1 and 2 oz. bottles.

What strikes me is how crisp the detail remains under these paints. They appear to mask particularly well, too.

The details are sharp since the modeler does need to apply a heavy coat of paint to get an opaque finish with Tru-Color Paint. All of our paints have a substantial finely ground pigment load that lets you get a superb appearance with just 1 coat of paint.

Same would apply to any model being painted - autos, railroad, armor, ships or planes. If the rivets can be seen, our paint will not obscure them !
