I would like to know what size brass wire should I use when making the grab handles for my WWII Panther D early in 1/72nd scale.
Thank you
Assume that the rod used for the real handles has a diameter somewhere between 15 - 25 millimetres.
Dividing with 72 gives 0.2 to 0.35 millimetres.
I think I would go for close to 0.2 with 0.25 millimetres as upper limit to allow some margin for paint thickness.

Edit:
This image:

shows the side of the mantlet, supposed to be 100 mm thick and a grab handle on the drivers hatch.
Comparing the sizes makes me think the handle is 12 - 13 mm thick
Similar with this image:

The side armour of the turret is 45 mm thick and the handle on the rear top edge of the turret seems to be about 0.3 x the armour thickness which would mean about 12 mm (and 0.17 mm in 1/72)
