Locomotive for Sale This sits right across the street from the Historic Sheridan Inn, which you can see in the background on the right, and between the CB&Q Depots that I took pictures of and submitted to Railroad Modeling back in 2012. I am going to have to go down and get some pictures of it before it is sold. I spoke with the Rotary Club in the past about being let inside the fenced in area so that I could take pictures but they would never commit to a date or time for me to do so. Guess I can just take pictures through the fence like I did with Cheyenne's Big Boy 4004 in 2017.
Thanks,
Randy

Randy,
Thanks! This is interesting news. Since Warren Buffett owns BNSF, and CB&Q is the "B" in BNSF*, maybe he will go for big PR like UP did with Big Boy 4014 and restore this magnificent machine to running order.
*CB&Q: Chicago Burlington and Quincy, the "Burlington Route"
BNSF: Burlington Northern Santa Fe

Randy,
Thanks! This is interesting news.
You're welcome Fred. I always like to share any news stories like this. I am kind of surprised that Sheridan is thinking of selling it. Lots of times when the Sheridan City Council presents an idea or makes a decision I just shake my head and wonder why.
There is another engine like it in Douglas, Wyoming at the Locomotive Park & Railroad Interpretive and Visitor's Center. I have never been to the museum but it is on my list of things to do. I read one time that the engines were a gift to the state of Wyoming. The nice thing about the one in Douglas is that you can walk right up to it.
Here are a couple of links.

Hi, All
The "whys" and "wherefores" of POLITICIANS are a mystery to the lay-person... Ponder this thought for a moment:
Politicians and Diplomats have been responsible for more evil, outright theft and the wholesale murder and the misery of BILLIONS of human beings over time; what CHANCE does a Steam Locomotive have against THAT kind of a record..?
