Welcome brother from the Great White North. I'm in the Puget Sound but enjoyed several trips to B.C.
So pull up a chair, eh, grab a two-four, we'll put on some Rush and Triumph then put on our toques, throw in some McKenzie Brothers and Red Green and talk plastic.
Kidding! Kidding! I stopped drinking 4 years ago.
The hobby has and is changing rapidly. I've been building nearly 50 years now and I've seen more change in the past 10 years than in the previous 40 years combined. Kits have gone from rubber band tracks with maybe a hundred parts to thousand part multimedia monstrosities. Many with interiors. The paint scene has completely changed with acrylics taking the lead. And with the internet reference material is just a click away.
Some of the denizens of the site are grumpy, argumentative, opinionated and obnoxious. That's what makes this site great.
So pull up a chair, go thru the forums and ask questions. The only stupid question is the one not asked.
Welcome aboard.
Cheers Patrick, thanks.

Good to see the Red Ensign again. A long ago memory of my youth. Welcome aboard.

Cheers.
I'm actually quite pleased someone recognized it! Some of us Canadians still consider the Ensign our flag. It was taken away without a referendum or vote.

Uppsala is about 60 kilometres from where I am located.
Next major town to the north from here.
We had mixed weather today, rain and sunshine.
What subject/area are you doing your PhD in?
I'm writing a dissertation in philosophy at the University of British Columbia. Working on revising a draft.
I have a strong interest in twentieth century military history, which is what led me to armour modelling.

Hello, I'm a PhD student in British Columbia.
I used to model as a kid and teen. Now getting back into it, and have joined the forum to attain advice. I want to improve as much as possible. Some of you may have already encountered my questions in the painting and weathering section.
Cheers.
