Is that the same kit that is reboxed nowadays by Revell ?

Affirmative. It was issued by Con-Cor for a while, too, with the 4-6-4 Hudson--another very good model.

I've got this kit, sitting in the stash, and a half-dozen or more books on the UP Big Boys ... I had thought to dig into some HO aftermarket & detail it up ...

Nice...I've got the same one with some CB&Q decals tossed in the box...same with the hudson{it was going to be remade to the Aleus}, my grandfather worked at the aurora roundhouse-now walter payton's place.
