Hello guys . I know i have been absent for many days but as you all know it was aTHENS Show running and as a member of the Organising Club i had to do some work besides participation

I will do a full Show report with pictures and medals and everything .
Here i just wanna present a project i started last December and finished 2 days before the Show ..that means 23 of May

The Land of the gnomes as i imagine it . The pictures are not so good , cause it was the first time i was shooting such a huge pack . It rates 60 x60 x 70 cm 's and gave me a Gold Medal in Fantasy Category , and the highest score from the Judges .

I wish you like it , and i will be happy to answer any possible question's or explain anything

Just a note on the scenery - base everything is made of red clay over a wooden armature andpainted to simulate wood. I wish i had a wood ready for this , i would have escaped 3 weeks carving and claying !!!

Thanks for all your time

Costas - superlatives fail me for the moment, so will WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! sufice to describe this work?
I'm not surprised it took gold, the judges eyes must have been out on stalks trying to pick out all the minute detail.
To paint that many individual figures and paint them all to that high standard must have given you some late nights, and the groundwork/scenic is fantastic. Not sure I'd want to share a bath with a duck though - they peck at anything LOL!

Breathtaking Costas, absolutely breathtaking.
This is the kind of scenery you can look at forever and still find new details.
One can't but smile, when looking at this.

Incredible!!!!
I've scrolled forth and back though the pictures at least ten times and still have the idea that I have not seen everything. I can imagine why it took you so long to complete. No wonder you got gold for this fantastic piece...

It was huuuuge fun !!!!!!

Hi Costas

Absaloutely marvalous. I love it.
There’s so much to see here I could spend hours looking at it.
Each fig is an excellent job in itself and I know it was a lot more work but
I like homemade wood and I think it works better for this than real wood.
Fantastic job Costas, I’m going back to have another look.

All the best

Vic

P.S. I see you got the water line just right in the bath tub, hope it doesn’t spring a leak.
:-)

hi Guys,
as I first saw the wooden box I asked Costas are you moving to somewhere, then I helped him to unscrew the cover of the box and this was really a masterpiece. everypart of it was worth to see.very nice paintwork on gnomes, great groundwork as always and awesome details... and he won a very well deserved award.
congrats bro

Love this unique and fun dio. Lots to look at and discover. One little thing that jumps at me...the woman in the tub and the one behind her are too similar in pose, the hand up next to the cheek. That said, it's still an excellent piece of work and the awards was very well deserved. I'm sure it got a lot of attnetion at the show.

excuse me whilst I pick up my lower jaw.. it just fell on the ground.

That is one stunning piece of work and I agree with what has been said earlier: you can look at it again and again and again and still discover new things
