hi all! on a recent holiday we took a day trip to cleethorpes, amongst other things was this miniture railway - well how could i resist? and it had a couple of bonus points, one being a little model shop in the far end station, so while there i bagged me three more dapol kits-stephensons rocket, the evening star (put aside for next years rail campaign!)and a BR mogul loco. also it has britains smallest pub! but due to trying to pack in as much as possible in one day my swambo and neice dragged me away its probably about 8 foot square and has been on the t.v. and mentioned on radio

This RR reminds me of a 1/2 scale railroad that takes you around the Dole Pineapple fields in Hawaii. Too Fun

of course i might not be able to resist the temptation! i've seen the evening star kit built and its a beauty!

I've had about ten magazines about building engines like those...all steam...real steam! About 1 1/2 scale...if you know your way around a lathe and have the access to the needed stock, it can be done. Your talking some serious mill time there though! I even saw an article on how to machine the rails and what heat treat specs to shoot for....

Phil, did the driver on any of these loco's look like an Hell's Angel type of dude? If so it may have been my boss, from Roundhouse engineering. He has plenty to do with this railway, I've never asked but he probably owns it or at least some of it. He's never around on a Wednesday, he's always there We build a 16mm version of "24" "Sandy River", I'll see if I can get some pics Come to think of it Rog, my boss, did mention that he saw someone acting a bit strangely, it must have been you.
Yes it's now officially the smallest pub in the UK
