Pathetic...it's all about the almighty dollar....for UP!
This why I like my fallen flag, CB&Q, it simply no longer exists. Well, actually, the "burlington" still exists after the 69' merger with great northern and is carried on today with BNSF...but any cascade green car I have/model is a "burlington pre-merger" car. :-)

I can see others following suit in the near future so they can claim they're extra money as well...just like what's been goin on in the rest of the model industry...royalties for using our name/logo!

I get what you're saying and its a bit sad. If the UP's of the world would realize that Lionel (and others) are doing more good for thier company by providing modelers with their name then life would be so much easier.

Overall I'm glad they agreed and Lionel is able to use the name. It is at least a positive outcome for modeling. WIth the huge copy write issue that is looming from the big airlines, government, and others this win is a step in the right direction.
