Hi everybody just got back from the Long Island Miniature model show 2006, nice show and i think i got lots of good pics as soon as i sort through them i will post for everyone to see, i also met our very own Al there it was a pleasure meeting him he is a great guy and a very good painter he kinda gently pushed me to enter some of my stuff and i am glad i did, here is a pick of my Vampirella figure that won a silver in the back round is the award, sometimes you just get lucky. picks to come in a few days.

It was a pleasure meeting Robert as well. I was glad to see his work in person as well.

The show was a bit smaller than usual with fewer of our European cousins crossing the pond this time. Alan and Marion Ball had a number of their fine pieces on display and gave an very informative talk on their sculpting and painting techniques.

Best of Show went to Bob Tavis for his powerfully moving and excellently rendered, though heartbreaking, Strange Fruit diorama depicting a lynching. Bob is to be commended for tackling such a difficult theme and carrying it off.

That dio Al posted was amazing if not a bit disturbing it really had to be seen in person to get the total impact, thanks Vic that figure is one of my better works as soon as i sort through the model car contest picks i will work on the figure picks.
