In every new handbook, MrBlack Publications assure their position with the quality and content of their books. On the sixth book of their handbook series, they kept the quality and additionally they added some articles other than standard painting articles like sculpting and converting figures.
book basics

The book includes seven chapters. Four chapters explain different painting methods and techniques with enamel, acrylic and oil paints as two chapters are about converting figures and one about sculpting.

  • How to Paint a Mounted figure : Ernesto Reyes Stahluth paints the award winning model of Pegaso Models 75-096 Vlad Dracul,The Impaler. Besides the flesh tones, he step-by-step explaines how to paint the figure, the horse and how to make and paint the figure base.w in acrylics, oils and printer’s ink. The article has 48 photos and a really satisfying text in 14 pages.

  • How to Paint a Realistic Face on a 1/10 scale Bust : Kazufumi Tomori tells his painting technique step by step for Life Miniatures LM-B001 War Photographer,1971,Vietnam. He shares his methods and recipes on painting with excellent step by step photos. This part is 6 pages with 11 painting process photos and 7 final photos.

Both artists explain their techniques in a very good text and 17 photos in 6 pages.

  • Painting a Figure Using an Oriented Source of Light : Another interesting and useful article. Alex Varela-Iguazzu paints Scale 75 SCN-003 75 mm figure Jack The Ripper in acrylics using OSL technique and shares his work with explanatory text and 20 photos.
